Michaela Walsh makes history with boxing victory

Michaela Walsh makes history for Northern Ireland after winning the first ever women's boxing match at the Commonwealth games.

Michaela Walsh has eased past Thessa Dumas with a unanimous decision in the first ever female boxing match at the Commonwealth Games.

The Northern Ireland fighter was too powerful for her opponent from Mauritius and a confident display saw her emerge victorious on all three judges' scorecards.

Elsewhere, Olympic champion Nicola Adams meets Nigerian Oluwatoyin Oladeji this evening.

Flyweight Walsh will now fight Sarah Joy Rae of Jamaica in the quarter-finals.
