Wladimir Klitschko eyes undisputed heavyweight crown

Wladimir Klitschko says that his "aim" to to bring the WBC heavyweight title 'back into the family' following Vitali's decision to vacate.

Wladimir Klitschko has set his sights on the WBC heavyweight title vacated by his brother Vitali Klitschko on Monday.

The 37-year-old always said that he would not fight his brother, who will now be focusing his efforts on a run for the 2015 Ukrainian presidency.

Klitschko, who already holds the IBF, WBO, WBA Super and IBO belts, is hoping to become the first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis, who held all of the major titles back in 2000.

"It's obviously my aim to bring the WBC title back into the Klitschko family," he told Bild.

Wladimir (61-3) successfully defended his WBA, IBF and WBO straps against Alexander Povetkin in October.
