Lee Selby signs with Matchroom Sport

Matchroom Sport announce the signing of British and Commonwealth featherweight champion Lee Selby.

British and Commonwealth featherweight champion Lee Selby has become the latest boxer to sign with Matchroom Sport.

The 26-year-old has now been added to the April 20 bill at Winter Gardens, Blackpool, which is being headlined by Brian Rose and Joachim Alcine.

He is also scheduled to feature in Cardiff on June 15.

Selby, from Barry, Wales, said that he now has his sights set on a world title tilt.

"I'm very excited to box on Sky Sports and I think it's my time to shine - I think I can become a world champion," Selby told Sky Sport News.

"I'm a confident guy - that's just my attitude.

"I've started off at the bottom on non-televised shows and now I'm here it's a great feeling and I have the chance to get the exposure I deserve."

Ricky Burns and George Groves have also recently joined Eddie Hearn's stable.
