Scott Quigg: 'Hidenori Otake is my biggest test'

WBA super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg believes that Hidenori Otake will prove to be the biggest test of his career when they clash on Saturday night.

British super-bantamweight Scott Quigg has insisted that he isn't thinking about potential lucrative fights that could materialise in 2015.

Quigg, the WBA champion, has been frequently linked with a showdown with Carl Frampton, but ahead of his bout with Hidenori Otake on Saturday night, the Bury-based fighter has revealed that he is fully focused on trying to overcome the Japanese.

The 26-year-old told Sky Sports News: "This is my biggest test so far. He is very highly thought of. He's highly-ranked with all of the governing bodies.

"I've read more about him than the footage that I've seen, but from what I've read, everyone is speaking highly of him.

"It's not only that, though. It's what could be at stake if I win. I am fully focused on Saturday but there are big fights in the new year that could be made so that brings extra pressure for Saturday night."

Quigg is unbeaten in 29 professional fights while Otake has lost just one in 26 matches, but that defeat was back in 2007.
