Tom Loeffler: 'Gennady Golovkin would consider Chris Eubank Jnr fight'

WBA and IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will consider a future fight with Chris Eubank Jr, says promoter Tom Loeffler.

Tom Loeffler, the promoter of WBA and IBF champion Gennady Golovkin, has said that the hard-hitting middleweight will consider a future fight with Chris Eubank Jr.

Earlier this month, Eubank claimed that he can become the first man to defeat Golovkin, who recorded his 21st consecutive knockout at the weekend with an eighth-round stoppage of David Lemieux.

Golovkin is currently eyeing a high-profile showdown with either Saul Alvarez or Miguel Cotto, but Loeffler has revealed that Eubank Jr is an option for 2016.

Loeffler told World Boxing News: "Chris Eubank Jr is doing well and is increasing his profile in the UK all the time, so I could definitely see him as a future fight for GGG.

"I don't think there is anyone at 160 that can go the distance with GGG because of his punching power, aggressive style and uncanny ability to cut off the ring."

Eubank Jr will defend his interim WBA belt against Tony Jeter in Sheffield on Saturday night.
