Amir Khan is ready to avenge his controversial December defeat to Lamont Peterson when the pair meet in Las Vegas.

Amir Khan is excited by the prospect of revenge ahead of his Las Vegas rematch with Lamont Peterson in May.

Khan was confirmed a rematch on Thursday, after concerns were raised over scoring "irregularities" during his points loss in December.

The Bolton fighter feels that justice has prevailed and he his looking forward to regaining his WBA and IBF titles.

He said: "I'm delighted that I have finally been given the chance to avenge the result of my last fight.

"It's clear I wasn't happy with what went on in the previous fight, but that takes nothing away from how Lamont Peterson fought.

"I'm going to take care of business inside the ring and this fight is going to be just as exciting as the last one. The only difference is going to be in the outcome."

The original bout took place in Peterson's hometown of Washington DC. The American is hoping that a repeat victory will end doubts over his reign.

He said: "It's at a neutral site and, when I beat him this time, he won't have anything to complain about."

Khan's defeat to Peterson was just his second in 28 fights.
