Amir Khan: 'I will bounce back from Lamont Peterson defeat'

Amir Khan insists that he will bounce back from the recent defeat to Lamont Peterson.

Amir Khan has insisted that his recent defeat to Lamont Peterson was just a 'blip' and that he will not let it derail his progress.

The Bolton fighter lost his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles after suffering a split decision defeat on Saturday, but has insisted that he will soon be challenging for the tag of pound-for-pound king.

"Hopefully we will get the rematch and from there move to 147, the next division above, and take on the big games in that division," Khan told talkSPORT.

"I don't think it has put me back much because I'm still young, 25, and I still have a lot of time in my career.

"I've watched the fight four or five times and after watching it I won the fight clearly. It seemed like I was fighting two people in there."

Khan's camp were unhappy with referee Joseph Cooper's performance on Saturday, with his decision to deduct the English fighter two points proving crucial.
