Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder talks confirmed

Mick Hennessy says that talks are underway with regards to a fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

Boxing promoter Mick Hennessy has confirmed that he has opened talks with Deontay Wilder's representatives about the possibility of a heavyweight showdown with Tyson Fury.

The 25-year-old Mancunian was left frustrated for a second time by David Haye on Sunday, with the former two-weight world champion revealing that he has been advised to retire following reconstructive shoulder surgery.

Fury has since talked up the prospect of a bout with the American, who is also unbeaten as a professional.

"We have had talks with Wilder's people and we are in discussions at the moment, but obviously there are a lot of pieces of the jigsaw we need to fit together," said his promoter Hennessy.

"We are looking at a number of different options but one thing we do know is that Tyson is one of the biggest draws in world boxing at the moment and as soon as he is ready we will look to get him back in the ring."

Fury jokingly announced his retirement from the sport on Twitter yesterday.
