Carl Frampton: 'I will attract more support than Scott Quigg'

IBF super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton predicts that he will have more support inside the Manchester Arena than Bury-based opponent Scott Quigg.

IBF super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton has insisted that he will be backed by more fans than Scott Quigg in their unification clash in Manchester on February 27.

Frampton has agreed to travel to the North-West of England to meet Bury-based Quigg, but the Northern Irishman feels that his support will outweigh that of his opponent when they clash early next year.

The 28-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I'm a bigger draw. I'm confident I'll have the lion's share of fans on the night.

"There will be more Irish in the arena. Whatever it takes for them to get in, they'll get in. But it's not really about Ireland versus England.

"Judging by the response I've had so far, people from Ireland, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Wales and Scotland will all be supporting me."

As well as Frampton's IBF strap, Quigg's WBA title will also be on the line.
