Carl Frampton eager to re-open Scott Quigg talks

IBF super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton believes that a unification clash with Scott Quigg can still happen providing that talks can be re-opened with Eddie Hearn.

IBF super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton has claimed that only one meeting took place between Cyclone Promotions and Matchroom Sport before Eddie Hearn's offer of £1.5m to fight Scott Quigg.

Earlier this month, Hearn said that negotiations for a unification clash had "hit a brick wall", but Frampton insists that talks had gone well and that a domestic showdown could still take place if another meeting can be arranged.

The 28-year-old told the Belfast Telegraph: "This fight can be made if Hearn will have a meeting with us. How do you make a fight if the other team won't have a meeting?

"Our team had one meeting with Hearn and everyone thought it went well and then they came out with the £1.5m offer for Manchester. Negotiations had not hit a brick wall.

"I'm the champion and they want me to go to Manchester and they promote the show. I hope the fight can be made but it can't be made if people won't talk."

Hearn has indicated that Quigg could face either Nonito Donaire or Kiko Martinez if a encounter with Frampton can't be agreed.
