Dereck Chisora: 'I will smash up Edmund Gerber'

Dereck Chisora claims that he will "smash up" Edmund Gerber next month and prove that he deserves a shot at the Klitschko brothers.

British heavyweight Dereck Chisora has claimed he will "smash up" Edmund Gerber and prove that he deserves another world title shot.

Chisora, who fought Vitali Klitschko for the WBC title last year, faces the German on September 21 for the European title.

"Beating Gerber is another step closer to the Klitschko brothers and nothing is going to stop me winning the European title," Chisora told reporters.

"I'm fit, lean and mean, and ready to do the business. Gerber is a good fighter but he's not in my class. I really want to do a job on him, really smash him up and show that I deserve a shot at the Klitschkos.

"The titles are great, winning the European will mean I've won the big three along with the British and Commonwealth, but the world title is the one I want."

Chisora has lost four of his 21 fights, while Kerber has been beaten just once in 24 bouts.
