Kell Brook: 'Amir Khan can earn respect by fighting me'

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook challenges Amir Khan to earn respect by fighting him in an all-British showdown next year.

Kell Brook has challenged Amir Khan to earn his respect by stepping into the ring with him as speculation surrounding their potential fight rumbles on.

Brook, 29, retained his IBF welterweight title with a stoppage win over Frankie Gavin last month, and has since revealed he is targeting a showdown with former WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios.

However, talk of a potential bout with Amir Khan, 28, refuses to die down.

"When he [Khan] steps up he gets beat, he gets knocked out and beat. He's got no belt, he's got nothing. I'm the champion. Earn your respect by fighting me," Brook is quoted by Boxing News as saying.

"I just want to get him in the ring and see who the number one is."

Brook extended his unbeaten record to 35 fights with the win over Gavin, while Khan's points win over Chris Algieri in May leaves his professional record at 31-3.
