Washington Wizards center Marcin Gortat believes that the team were "too cocky" during their defeat to the Sacramento Kings.

Marcin Gortat has said that the Washington Wizards were "too cocky" during their overtime defeat to the Sacramento Kings.

The visitors were five points up with less than 30 seconds to play, but the Kings came back to level the scores at the end of the fourth quarter, before surging ahead in the extra spell.

The center told reporters: "We were up five points and celebrating like we had already won the game. We loosened up way too much. We got punished for being too cocky."

The Wizards face the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow.
