Los Angeles Clippers draw level against San Antonio Spurs

The Los Angeles Clippers edge out the San Antonio Spurs in game six to level their first-round playoff series.

The Los Angeles Clippers have ensured that they will play a seventh game against the San Antonio Spurs after winning game six of their first-round playoff series 102-96.

The defending champions knew that a win in their home court would send them through to the Western Conference semi-finals, but the sides could not be separated in the first half.

The Clippers made a strong start to the second half as they tried to keep themselves in the series, scoring 11 of the first 13 points in the third quarter.

Chris Paul kept the visitors in front at the start of the fourth, while both sides failed to add to the score for a three-minute spell early in the final period.

The guard finally ended the drought though, making a three-pointer to extend Los Angeles's advantage, allowing them to hold off a late push from Tim Duncan.

Marco Belinelli also pressed late on for the hosts, getting the Spurs to within two points with 14 seconds remaining, but a couple of late free throws from Jamal Crawford put the win beyond doubt for the Clippers.

The deciding game will take place at the Staples Center on Saturday.
