Tim Duncan to return for San Antonio Spurs next season

Tim Duncan confirms that he will return to the San Antonio Spurs next season for his 19th year in the NBA.

San Antonio Spurs veteran Tim Duncan has confirmed that he will return to play in the NBA next season.

The 39-year-old will play in his 19th season in the NBA, and will chase his sixth championship ring with the organisation.

"Finally had a chance to talk with [Spurs coach Gregg Popovich]," Duncan told the San Antonio Express-News.

"I'll be on the court next year."

Duncan averaged 13.9 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game last season, and has now competed in 1,572 games and 241 contests in the post-season.
