NBA roundup: Phoenix Suns battle to win over Minnesota Timberwolves

Sports Mole rounds up Sunday's NBA action as the Phoenix Suns battle to overcome the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-120 at the Target Center.

The Phoenix Suns turned in an industrious performance on Sunday night to defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-120 at the Target Center.

The visitors were propelled by a standout display from Markieff Morris, who led the way with 25 points off the bench, in order to overturn a special showing from Minnesota's Kevin Love, who notched 36 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists on the night.

The Sleep Train Arena played host to another high-scoring game as the Sacramento Kings defeated the Milwaukee Bucks with a 124-107 victory on home soil.

The victors were helped by the trio of DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay and Isaiah Thomas, who each scored 20 points or more to combine for 86 points.

In New York, the Cleveland Cavaliers ended an eight-game winning streak held by the New York Knicks, as they beat Mike Woodson's side 106-100 at Madison Square Garden.

The Cavs were boosted by the performances of Jarrett Jack, who notched a season-high 31 points, while Dion Waiters added 22, to help Cleveland overturn a 17-point first-half deficit to win the encounter.

Jordan Hill tallied a career-high 28 points and notched 13 rebounds, as the Los Angeles Lakers put a stop to a four-game losing streak with a 103-94 victory against the Orlando Magic at the Staples Arena.

The Brooklyn Nets managed to score a season sweep over the Dallas Mavericks for the first time since 1999-2000, with a 107-104 away win at the American Airlines Center, with Joe Johnson scoring 22 points and Marcus Thornton coming off the bench to add 20 for the visitors.

Darrell Arthur matched a career-high tally with three 3-pointers as he helped the Denver Nuggets beat the Washington Wizards 105-102 at the Pepsi Center, as Kenneth Faried also stood out with 20 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

Finally, in Canada, DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry scored 23 of their combined 46 points in the fourth quarter to help the Toronto Raptors overturn a 14-point deficit to defeat the Atlanta Hawks during Sunday's afternoon fixture.
