The Philadelphia 76ers will officially retire Allen Iverson's jersey.

The Philadelphia 76ers have announced that they will officially retire Allen Iverson's number three jersey.

The franchise will hold a special half-time ceremony on March 1, 2014, when the Sixers host the Washington Wizards.

Iverson is one of the most iconic players to ever wear the Sixers uniform after being drafted with the first overall pick in the 1996 Draft.

He appeared in 722 games, averaged 27.6 points per game and leads the way in several franchise records.
