Former Orlando Magic centre Dwight Howard has said that he is pleased to see the franchise starting to rebuild this season.
Howard played for Magic for eight years from 2004 until 2012, winning three Southeast division titles, being named an NBA all-star five times, and becoming the club's all-time leading scorer with 11,435 points before leaving for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Despite demanding that he be allowed to leave the club after two years of failing to live up to their previous successes, the current Houston Rockets player still retains a soft spot for Orlando and revealed that he is pleased to see the club finally start to make progress again.
He told reporters: "They have got a lot of young guys now who can really play the game and they are only going to get better.
"I am happy for them that they are coming back. Young guys like Nikola Vucevic, Victor Oladipo, Evan Fournier – they have got a lot of guys who can really play basketball. It is nice to see them coming back."
Despite winning only one of their first five games this season, they have lost the other four by a combined total of just 13 points.
