Scott Brooks: 'No excuses for defeat to San Antonio Spurs'

Scott Brooks insists that there can be no excuses for the defeat to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Scott Brooks refused to make any excuses after watching his side lose to the San Antonio Spurs in game one of the Western Conference finals.

Despite being dealt a blow prior to the game with the news that Serge Ibaka will miss the rest of the post-season matches with a calf injury, Brooks insists that there is no reason for them to point to the loss of a key player in the aftermath of 122-105 loss in Texas.

"We're a no-excuse team," the Thunder coach told reporters. "Serge is out. He's not coming back. We have to play better. We have to play better.

"If we expect to beat one of the best teams in basketball, and a very good offensive team, we have to play and we're not going to make an excuse."

Game two of the series takes place on Wednesday evening.
