Nick Young expected to miss between six and eight weeks following thumb injury

Los Angeles Lakers small forward Nick Young is expected to miss between six and eight weeks after tearing a ligament in his right thumb during practice.

The Los Angeles Lakers are to be without Nick Young for between six and eight weeks as he recovers from surgery on a torn ligament in his right thumb.

Young, who has been touted as having the potential to be the NBA's best sixth man this season, picked up the injury when trying to steal possession from Kobe Bryant in practice last week.

"I feel bad for him. I feel bad for us. That's a big loss for us, Bryant said of Young's injury," according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Lakers have been boosted by the news that Steve Nash doesn't appear to concerned about rolling his ankle during practice over the weekend.
