Wesley Johnson is awaiting results of a scan on his foot after suffering an injury during Sunday's loss to the Denver Nuggets.

Wesley Johnson has been forced to have a scan on his foot after complaining about a "burning sensation" at the weekend.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Los Angeles Lakers in July, suffered the injury in the first quarter of his team's loss to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday and Mike D'Antoni is hoping the problem is not as bad as first feared.

"There was some burning sensation in his foot," D'Antoni told reporters shortly after the game. "We're hoping [it is] not bad."

Johnson has reportedly impressed during the pre-season training camp ahead of the new season with the Lakers, who offered him a one-year contract in the summer.

Texas-born Johnson was the fourth pick in the 2010 Draft for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
