Blake Griffin: 'NBA season should be 66 games'

Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin insists that the NBA season should be shortened to 66 games.

Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin has suggested that the NBA season should be shortened from 82 games to 66 games in the regular season.

While several players supported keeping the schedule at 82 games this week, Griffin argued that the ideal length would be shorter.

"Sixty-six, spread over the same amount of time [as the current 82-game season]," Griffin told reporters.

"Fatigue and injuries, and better product. If you have less games, less back-to-backs, the product's better. The fans will appreciate it more. You see those college guys playing so hard, but they play 36 games in the same amount of time we play 82 almost. I just think it would be a better product."

Those opposing the move have brought into question the impact it would have on revenue for both the league and the players.
