Larry Bird interested in bringing in help for Roy Hibbert

Larry Bird believes that Roy Hibbert could work with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Bill Walton in the summer to find consistency.

Indiana Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird has claimed that a former NBA player could be asked to give help to Roy Hibbert.

Despite dominating his opponents at times this season, Hibbert often struggled for consistency, and Bird believes that the 27-year-old could benefit from working with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Bill Walton, who has previously helped the two-time All-Star with his game.

"Roy's never asked us to go bring someone in," Bird told reporters. "I always say big guys are different. I would encourage Roy to try to get with one of the greats. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is one of the best teachers. Bill Walton is great.

"They know how to play the position as well as anyone ever has. I would encourage that."

Hibbert averaged 10.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game this season.
