Golden State Warriors achieve club-record 10-0 start

Stephen Curry dazzles with 46 points as the Golden State Warriors achieve a club-record 10-0 start to an NBA season with a 129-116 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Golden State Warriors set a new club-record start to an NBA season by notching their 10th straight win at the Minnesota Timberwolves last night.

The Warriors, who won their first title in 40 years earlier this year, are the first championship team since the 1964 Boston Celtics and just the fourth in history to start the following season 10-0 or better courtesy of a 129-116 success at Target Center.

Stephen Curry, the reigning MVP, again dazzled with his third 40-point game of the season. The point guard had 46 in total, shooting 15-25 from the field and 8-13 from three-point range.

Curry started the game with 21 in the first quarter - representing the fourth time in 2015-16 he has managed at least 20 in a quarter, which matches the season-high total of Russell Westbrook from the whole of last term.

Draymond Green added 23 points and 12 assists for Golden State, while number one pick Karl-Anthony Towns continued his fine start in the NBA with another double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) for the Wolves.

Minnesota drop to 4-4 for the season; all four defeats have come at home.
