NBA roundup: LeBron James triple-double leads Cleveland Cavaliers to first home win

Sports Mole provides the lowdown on Monday night's NBA action, where there were big nights for both LeBron James and Derrick Rose.

LeBron James recorded his first triple-double of the season last night to help the Cleveland Cavaliers to their first home win of the new campaign.

James had 32 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists as the Cavs ousted the New Orleans Pelicans 118-111 in a high-scoring affair.

Kyrie Irving also had 32 points for the Cavs, including 27 in the second half, while Ryan Anderson also matched the pair's scoring total for the Pelicans in defeat.

Reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard tied his career-high with 26 points as the San Antonio Spurs went on a late spurt to edge out the Los Angeles Clippers 87-85 at Staples Center.

A late 12-0 run helped the Spurs pick up their first away win of the season and go 3-3 for the campaign.

The depleted Indiana Pacers ended a six-game losing streak with a 97-86 victory over the Utah Jazz at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Roy Hibbert had a season-high 29 points for the Pacers, while Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward led all scorers with 30.

At Madison Square Garden, the Atlanta Hawks beat the New York Knicks for the second time in three nights, handing the Knicks their fifth straight loss.

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had 25 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in defeat, while Atlanta guard Dennis Schroder scored a career-high 14 points.

Finally, in Chicago, Derrick Rose made his return to the Chicago Bulls' starting lineup and scored a game-high 24 points in a 102-91 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

The Bulls are now 6-2 for the season and also had double-doubles from both Pau Gasol (17 points, 15 rebounds) and Joakim Noah (13 points, 14 rebounds).
