NBA roundup: Portland Trail Blazers continue winning streak

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from the games played in the NBA on Monday night.

The Portland Trail Blazers extended their winning streak to 11 games on Monday night with a victory over the New York Knicks.

Nicolas Batum scored 23 points for the Blazers in a 102-91 triumph over the Knicks, who were defeated for the 10th time this campaign.

LeBron James starred with 35 points for the Miami Heat as the defending champions eased to a 107-92 victory over the Phoenix Suns.

Dwyane Wade provided support for James with 21 points of his own, while his assist total of 12 was the highest since March 2010.

The Boston Celtics continued their improvement following a six-game losing run by beating the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday night.

Gerald Wallace had a season-high 17 points and Jordan Crawford added 21 for the Celtics in a 96-86 win.

The Indiana Pacers improved their record to 13-1 for the season with a 98-84 triumph over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

George Hill and Paul George scored 26 points each for the Pacers as a strong second-half display helped record an eighth successive home victory.

Brandon Jennings impressed for the Detroit Pistons in 113-94 success against former side the Milwauke Bucks.

The point guard recorded 15 points and 13 assists as the Pistons outscored the Bucks 65-34 in the first half to set up the triumph.

A strong fourth-quarter display from the Houston Rockets earned them a 93-86 win on the road over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies held the lead for most of the game but two free-throws from Omri Casspi, who scored 16 points, gave the Rockets an advantage which they carried to the final buzzer.

J.J. Hickson scored 22 points for the Denver Nuggets to condemn the Dallas Mavericks to their first home defeat of the season.

Ty Lawson had 19 and Nate Robinson added 17 points as the Nuggets cruised to a 110-96 success at the American Airlines Center.

The San Antonio Spurs continued their unbeaten run at the AT&T Center with a 112-93 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Seven players recorded double-figure point totals as a dominant display from the hosts condemned the Pelicans to their fifth away loss of the season.

The Utah Jazz needed overtime to beat the Chicago Bulls 89-83 for only their second win of the campaign.

Trey Burke made a key three-point shot in the extra period to hand the control to the Jazz, who held on for the win to come out on top over a Bulls side still reeling from the news that Derrick Rose will miss the rest of the season.
