Russell Westbrook's triple-double leads Houston Rockets to victory

He surpassed Magic Johnson in the NBA list.

Russell Westbrook's 139th career triple-double led the Houston Rockets to a 126-123 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Westbrook finished the game with 28 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds to surpass Magic Johnson in NBA triple-doubles, still 42 short of Oscar Robertson's record.

He hit a pair of free throws with 6.1 seconds left on the clock to seal the win, with James Harden adding 29 points. Brandon Ingram top-scored for the Pelicans with 35 as they lost their third successive game.

Khris Middleton hit a buzzer-beater to force overtime in the Milwaukee Bucks' clash with the Miami Heat, but it was the Heat who prevailed 131-126.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 29 points and 17 rebounds, but Goran Dragic hit six in the extra period and Bam Adebayo four free throws to spoil the Bucks' first home game of the season.

Elsewhere, Tobias Harris led the way for the Philadelphia 76ers with 29 points against his old side the Detroit Pistons in a 117-111 victory.

Trae Young had 39 points as the Atlanta Hawks beat the Orlando Magic 103-99 and the Boston Celtics saw off the New York Knicks 118-95.

The Toronto Raptors prevailed over the Chicago Bulls 108-84, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Indiana Pacers 110-99 and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Washington Wizards 124-122, with Demar DeRozan scoring the game-winning basket.

The Sacramento Kings went down 113-81 to the Utah Jazz and the Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers 130-122.
