The Suns edged ahead of the New York Knicks at the bottom of the league.

The Phoenix Suns overcame a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the NBA's leading side the Milwaukee Bucks 114-105.

Kelly Oubre Jr led the way with 27 points and a career-high 13 rebounds to help the Suns become the only team to win against Milwaukee multiple times this season.

The Suns had begun the match with the worst record in the league, but the victory helped give them the edge over the New York Knicks at the foot of the standings.

The San Antonio Spurs held off a late surge from the Denver Nuggets to triumph 104-103.

Denver pulled to within one point of the Spurs after rallying from 21 points down, but the Nuggets missed three shots in the final 16.2 seconds to fall just short.

The win for the Spurs was their seventh in a row at home.

Danilo Gallinari scored 23 points as the Los Angeles Clippers consigned local rivals the Los Angeles Lakers to their third straight loss.

Gallinari was one of six Clippers players to score in double figures as a 113-105 victory saw them claim sole possession of seventh place in the Western Conference.

LeBron James contributed 27 points for the Lakers, whose hopes of a play-off spot continue to fade.

Meanwhile, the Sacramento Kings snapped a three-game losing streak to defeat the Knicks 115-108, while Jrue Holiday and Julius Randle both scored 30 points to lift the New Orleans Pelicans to a 115-112 triumph over the Utah Jazz.

The Brooklyn Nets recorded their most lopsided victory in Barclays Center history with a 127-88 win over the Dallas Mavericks, and Dwyane Wade scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Miami Heat over the Atlanta Hawks 114-113.
