Joel Embiid leads Philadelphia 76ers to comeback win over Atlanta Hawks

The Cameroonian missed his side's last game due to an injury.

Joel Embiid poured in 26 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a tight 105-103 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.

The Cameroonian showed no sign of the right ankle sprain that kept him out of the previous game against the Detroit Pistons as he went 12-for-19 and helped his side come back from 98-90 down with just under five minutes left.

Philadelphia are now 3-0 for the season.

Other close results included the Pistons edging out the Indiana Pacers 96-94, Houston Rockets defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 116-112 success and San Antonio Spurs beat the Portland Trail Blazers 113-110.

Elsewhere, the Golden State Warriors bounced back from a loss the night before to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 134-123.

But the Californians' power forward Draymond Green refused to get carried away with the win, telling reporters after the game that "We're still not a very good team" as the side recorded their first win of the year.

The Milwaukeee Bucks won 129-112 over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Utah Jazz closed out a tight 96-95 victory against the Phoenix Suns, the LA Clippers were 111-96 winners over the Charlotte Hornets and the Denver Nuggets notched a 101-94 success against the Sacramento Kings.

The New York Knicks beat the Chicago Bulls 105-98 at Madison Square Garden and the Orlando Magic went down 104-95 to reigning champions the Toronto Raptors.
