No structural damage for DeMarre Carroll

Atlanta Hawks star DeMarre Carroll avoids serious structural damage to his knee after an X-ray came back negative.

Atlanta Hawks star DeMarre Carroll has not suffered any structural damage to his injured knee, it has been revealed.

Carroll was diagnosed with a sprained left knee, as X-rays on the injury came back negative on Thursday.

"We'll see how things go the next 24 hours," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said, ESPN reports.

"We'll make a decision that's in DeMarre's short-term and long-term best interests, listen to the doctors, listen to DeMarre, make decisions."

The Hawks initially feared that there was ligament or more serious damage, but the scan revealed a bone bruise.
