Badminton player Gabby Adcock targets national titles record

Badminton player Gabby Adcock says that she is determined to reach Anthony Clark's record 12 English National Championship titles following her recent victory.

Gabby Adcock has revealed that her main aim is to snatch a record number of English National Championship titles following her triumph at the K2, Crawley on Sunday.

Adcock and her husband Chris secured the mixed doubles title with a 21-10 21-13 win over Gary Fox and Lauren Smith at the weekend.

Now, Adcock, who won doubles gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow last year, has Anthony Clark's record 12 national titles at the forefront of her mind.

"I want to go for the record of national titles," BBC Sport quotes Adcock as saying. "Next year could be difficult with the Olympics in mind but I hope to get 10 in the bag at some point."

At the same event, teenager Sam Parsons clinched his first men's singles title.
