Chris Langridge: 'We must stick to our style'

Chris Langridge underlines the importance of not changing style ahead of the mixed doubles quarter-finals at the Commonwealth Games.

Chris Langridge has suggested that he and Heather Olver need to avoid straying from their own style as they aim to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games.

The English pair booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles with a victory over Jeff Tho and Jacqueline Guan, but Langridge believes that improvements need to be made if they are to achieve more success.

"The coaches reiterated the point of shot selection and 'think what you're doing' and at the break, we won around 10 points in a row," the 29-year-old told Team England's official website.

"It shows for us, when we play the right style we are quite dangerous but when we get lured into a different style or a style that is wrong, we are nowhere near as good."

Langridge and Olver will meet Canada's Alex Bruce and Tony Ng in the quarter-finals.
