Andy Ellis: 'Team England ready to perform at Commonwealth Games'

Badminton competitor Andy Ellis is confident that England can enjoy a successful campaign at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Andy Ellis has insisted that England will give it their all in order to taste success in the badminton event at the Commonwealth Games.

The 27-year-old, who will represent Team Derby in the new National Badminton League, will compete in the men's doubles in Glasgow alongside Chris Adcock as top seeds.

"In badminton we've got a very talented young squad," Ellis told reporters. "I think we're seeded second in the team event, but we all believe we can do better.

"We want to do better for Team England and we've got some good seedings in the other events as well. We've got a very good squad coming here and I think we're all ready to perform."

The mixed doubles event gets underway on Thursday morning.
