The Sheffield Star has called for the city's Don Valley Stadium to be named after local Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis.
Ennis cruised to success in the heptathlon on Saturday, beginning a medal-laden night of athletics for Britain.
Now, there have been calls for the poster girl of the London Games to be honoured with a stadium name change, and Sheffield International Venues' head of operations Lorenzo Clark admitted that they have been considering the option for a number of years.
"It's something we've actually considered - naming one stand the Jess Ennis Stand or the whole stadium," he said.
"Renaming Don Valley as the Jess Ennis Stadium would only help increase participation if Jess was part of it, being an ambassador.
"You can't just name something and hope people will come. We've got to make sure Jess is involved."
Ennis yesterday confirmed that she will not be participating in the hurdles later this week.
