Jessica Ennis-Hill eyes winter season return after pregnancy

Jessica Ennis-Hill is hopeful that she will return to training for the winter season after giving birth to her first child.

Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill has claimed that she hopes to be back in training by the winter season after she gives birth.

The 28-year-old will be absent from this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after she announced in January that she is pregnant with her first child.

"It will be brilliant to support the team and watch everyone compete," Ennis-Hill told Sky Sports News. "It will be very different being on the sofa with a baby.

"I am hoping to get back in training for the winter season. I would love to be ready for the World Championships in Beijing next year and being back in peak shape for the Rio Olympics in 2016 is my main ambition."

Before becoming pregnant, Ennis-Hill suffered an ankle injury, which kept her out of the World Championships in Moscow last year.
