London is looking likely to have a bright start to the afternoon but showers are possible as we head into mid-afternoon.
Clouds look to be developing from the west of the capital and though there is a possibility of no rain there is also a chance of showers, some potentially stormy.
Into the evening the showers look to be limited to the north of London so the Olympic Stadium could well clear up from the early evening throughout the rest of the athletics day.
Even with the potential showers, temperatures will remain mild with highs of 20 degrees in London.
The temperatures are unlikely to dip much through the evening as the rain passes, with 17-18 degrees probable in east London.
