Almaz Ayana shocks Genzebe Dibaba to win the women's 5000m at the World Athletics Championships.

Almaz Ayana has shocked Genzebe Dibaba to win the women's 5000m at the World Athletics Championships in a time of 14:26.83.

1500m winner Dibaba came into the race as heavy favourite and the Ethiopian pair escaped the pack after 2500m.

Dibaba fell away though and eventually slipped to a bronze medal after a sprint finish against Senbere Teferi.

Great Britain's Steph Twell finished 12th.
