Washington Redskins quarterback Robet Griffin III expects to start against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, according to reports.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is set to start against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, according to multiple sources.

Griffin hasn't played for the Redskins since he suffered a dislocated left ankle in week two, but he was a full participant in practice on Wednesday.

It was the first time since injuring his ankle that the 24-year-old took snaps with the first-team offense, according to ESPN.

Back-up signal-caller Kirk Cousins was replaced with Colt McCoy after half time in the week seven game against the Tennessee Titans and McCoy has since gone on to help the Redskins win their last two games.

However, coach Jay Gruden recently insisted to reporters that Griffin III remained his first-choice quarterback and he would return to the starting lineup when healthy.
