Half-Time Report: Washington Redskins battle to lead away to the New York Jets

The Washington Redskins force two turnovers as the NFC East team lead 13-10 against the New York Jets at half time.

The Washington Redskins head into half time winning 13-10 away from home against the 3-1 New York Jets.

The Redskins started with a solid drive against the best-rated defence in the NFL and got their reward as quarterback Kirk Cousins found Pierre Garcon alone in the endzone for a two-yard touchdown.

Eric Decker then caught a big pass from Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick for 35 yards down to the one-yard line, enabling Chris Ivory to punch the ball home and level the scores.

Ivory then broke out for a 49-yard run, but Gang Green could not advance much further with the Washington defence tightening, and Nick Folk put up the three points by splitting the uprights.

The Jets would turn the ball over in the second quarter, with Brandon Marshall stripped of possession by Bashaud Breeland, but they could only manage a field goal from the extra possession.

Breeland managed to get his second turnover of the game after he picked off Fitzpatrick at midfield, which allowed Cousins to drive down the field for Kai Forbath to put the away team ahead at the break
