Tennessee Titans add Wesley Woodyard

The Tennessee Titans agree a deal to sign former Denver Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard on a four-year contract.

The Tennessee Titans have agreed a deal to sign former Denver Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard.

Woodyard will join the Titans on a four-year contract worth a reported $16m (£9.6m) having been released by the Broncos at the end of last season.

The 27-year-old played in Denver for six seasons having joined in 2008 as an undrafted rookie, and Titans general manager Ruston Webster believes that his experience and leadership will benefit the team.

"Wesley is a player who has experience playing in both 3-4 and 4-3 systems, and in our new scheme he fits as one of the inside linebackers," Webster is quoted as saying by ESPN.

"He is smart and fast. He also brings the leadership qualities and intangibles that we look for in a player, which makes him a good fit for us."

Webster's best season so far came in 2012 when he was the only player in the NFL with at least 100 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions.
