Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon says that the team are relying on him, having named him as their starter for the rest of the 2013 NFL season.

Mike Glennon has said that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be counting on him after naming him the team's starting quarterback.

The rookie will replace five-year veteran Josh Freeman, who has led the NFC South side to losses in their first three games of the season.

The 23-year-old told the team's website: "It's an exciting time for me, something I've dreamed of my whole life, something I've worked ever since I was a little kid, and all throughout high school and college has prepared me for this moment.

"As a quarterback, you have to take control of the huddle no matter how old you are. It doesn't matter if you've been in the league for 10 years or it's your first year, they're still counting on you to be the guy and to lead them to victory. That's what I have to do. I have to be that guy."

The Buccaneers host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
