Seattle Seahawks star Richard Sherman "not a fan" of NFL 'Top 100' list

Cornerback Richard Sherman admits that he disagrees with 'Top 100' ranking lists, having seen the positions that his Seattle Seahawks Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor were given.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has admitted that he doesn't take much notice of 'Top 100' lists which rank players in the NFL.

The NFL Network 'Top 100 Players of 2014' list is due to conclude this week, with the top 10 revealed after the remainder of the names have been announced.

Sherman's teammates Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor have been named at number 17 and number 65 respectively in the list, but the 26-year-old disagrees with their rankings and feels that both players should be higher.

He told NFL Total Access: "I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge fan (of the list). For example, I don't like where Earl was ranked.

"Earl is percent a top five, top 10 player in this league, has tremendous impact in every game, is around the ball every play. Kam Chancellor was in the 60s I think and that could easily be top-20, top-15 if we're being honest. And he had the best playoffs of any player in this game. He played huge.

"Those are the big reasons. I think those two were slights, and they were big slights, and there were other slights out there. I think there were guys who played some really good football last year, got kind of low balled. Even myself last year. I had 8 picks last year."

Sherman is expected to be named inside the top 10, having recently signed a new contract with the Seahawks to make him the highest-paid cornerback in the league.
