Half-Time Report: Kansas City Chiefs on course for fifth straight victory

Jamaal Charles scores two touchdowns as the Kansas City Chiefs go into half time with a 14-13 lead over reigning champions the Seattle Seahawks.

The Kansas City Chiefs are on course to make it 7-3 for the season having gone into half time with a 14-13 lead over reigning champions the Seattle Seahawks at Arrowhead Stadium this evening.

It was the Chiefs who struck first following an 86-yard drive downfield as Alex Smith gave the ball to Jamaal Charles, who found the corner of the endzone for a one-yard score.

The visitors responded early in the second quarter, however, as Russell Wilson fired a pass to Doug Baldwin in the endzone for a seven-yard touchdown.

Kansas City were soon back in the lead courtesy of Charles's second score of the day, this time racing in from 16 yards to restore the seven-point advantage.

Seattle pushed on for a strike to level things up just before the interval, but they were forced to settle for a field goal as Steven Hauschka converted from 24 yards to reduce the deficit to four.

That gap was cut again in the dying seconds of the half as this time Hauschka converted from 27 yards to make it a one-point game at the break.
