San Francisco 49ers demolish Tennessee Titans

Frank Gore scores two touchdowns as the San Francisco 49ers earn a comfortable 31-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans in the NFL.

Three unanswered touchdowns have helped the San Francisco 49ers claim their second away win of the NFL season in some style, thrashing the Tennessee Titans 31-17 in a comfortable victory.

San Francisco started brightly but took their time to break down a spirited Titans defence, with Phil Dawson's 44-yard field goal the only score of the first quarter.

When play resumed, the 49ers took complete control, with quarterback Colin Kapernick breaking into space to score the opening touchdown with a 20-yard break into the end zone.

Soon after Frank Gore finished a 45-yard drive from close range to give San Francisco a 17-point cushion, before repeating the trick after the interval as the visitors went 24-0 ahead.

Tennessee finally got on the scoreboard with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, courtesy of Chris Johnson's long drive and a pick from Jake Locker to Delanie Walker.

There was no danger of a late comeback, though, as Kassim Osgood scored on a fumble recovery, with San Francisco closing out an impressive win to improve their standing in the NFC West with a 5-2 record.
