Anquan Boldin predicts a better 2015 for the San Francisco 49ers

Jim Tomsula will do well as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, according to wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

Anquan Boldin has told his San Francisco 49ers teammates to improve this season after a disappointing 2014 campaign.

The 49ers missed the playoffs after they finished behind both the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West with an 8-8 record.

The wide receiver told SiriusXM NFL Radio: "For us, we just have to move forward. We just have to improve on what we did last year. We can't let last year be a repeat this year because we're better than that."

Boldin also hyped up new coach Jim Tomsula, and said that he believes he will be able to handle different characters within the squad.

He added: "I've always thought he was very energetic. I thought he was very detailed in what he did and how he coached the defensive line. And he was a guy who let them play but had parameters built in. He communicated well with the defensive line.

"Everybody who played for him, they busted their butt for him. He went to bat for his players, so that's something you're excited about.

"I think he'll do well as a head coach because I think he deals with different personalities that guys bring to the table. He deals with that quite well."

34-year-old Boldin scored five touchdowns last season.
