Half-Time Report: Richard Rodgers gives Green Bay Packers lead

A touchdown from Richard Rodgers gives the Green Bay Packers a 7-3 lead over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL.

An early touchdown from Richard Rodgers has given the Green Bay Packers a 7-3 half-time lead over the San Francisco 49ers at the Levi's Stadium.

The Packers were the first to strike when Aaron Rodgers launched a deep pass to Randall Cobb, before connecting with tight end Rodgers at the bench of the endzone for the opening touchdown on the next play.

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who threw four interceptions last week, looked wary of passing early on, but ran the ball to pick up a couple of first downs, although the home side were unable to get on the board in the first quarter.

The Packers stumbled while looking for a yard for a first down, allowing the San Francisco offense back on the field, but a couple of sacks on Kaepernick left the NFC West side to settle for a Phil Dawson field goal.

Eddie Lacy piled forward towards the end of the first half as Green Bay tried to get another score on the board just before the break, but Rodgers was sacked while looking for a touchdown pass, leaving the visiting side to send on Mason Crosby, whose 43-yard field goal attempt went wide.
