Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Markus Wheaton has revealed that he is relishing his new role as the club's slot receiver.
The 24-year-old made an impact for the Steelers in his second year at the club on the outside, but the form of Martavis Bryant towards the end of the campaign reduced his time on the field.
As a result, Mike Tomlin's men have moved Wheaton to the inside role, and he has admitted that he is enjoying learning the aspects of his new position.
"The plays I had last year were customised for me," Wheaton told reporters. "They made it out so I had some simple stuff. Being there full time, I am going to see a lot more.
"I wouldn't say that it is out of my comfort zone, but there are things I need to learn that are different from the outside.
"Being on the field last year, I learned a lot in terms of reading the defenses and seeing things. Moving me inside, I am still seeing a lot of the same things."
Wheaton has recorded 59 receptions for 708 yards and two touchdowns in his two years in the NFL.
