Brandin Cooks: 'I have the speed to be a playmaker'

Former Oregon State Beavers wide receiver Brandin Cooks believes that his speed will give him the chance to become a playmaker in the NFL.

Former Oregon State Beavers wide receiver Brandin Cooks believes that he has the breakaway speed to become a playmaker in the NFL.

Cooks recorded the fastest time of all receivers in the 40-yard sprint at the NFL Combine, posting a time of 4.33 seconds.

He told reporters: "For me, I'm a playmaker. I'm able to create plays from nothing. Be able to catch a three-yard ball, I'll take it the distance. Those RAC yards, yards after the catch.

"Speed kills and I feel like that's what I'm going to bring to the game."

The 20-year-old recorded 128 receptions for 1,730 yards along with 16 touchdowns for the Beavers in the 2013 season.
