New York Jets' Geno Smith: "I don't feel any pressure"

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith declares that he does not feel under any pressure ahead of his side's training camp to win the starting job for the 2015 campaign.

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith has insisted that he does not feel under any pressure to perform to earn the starter's job for the 2015 season.

The 24-year-old has endured a disappointing first two seasons in the NFL since he was selected in the second round of the 2013 Draft by the Jets.

Smith now faces a make-or-break season under new head coach Todd Bowles, but will first have to win the starting role ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick and Bryce Petty during training camp later this month.

"I don't feel any pressure," Smith told the club's official website. "The key thing is that going into [training] camp, going in with the right mindset.

"I feel like we have a lot of room for improvement, but I love the way we're working and competing. To have guys around me that are so, so good, it takes all the pressure off of me."

Smith has thrown for 5,571 yards and 25 touchdowns to 34 interceptions in his first two seasons in the NFL.
