Rex Ryan: 'We didn't promise Chris Johnson primary role'

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan reveals that the club did not promise anything to running back Chris Johnson when he signed for the club.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has revealed that the club did not specify a role to running back Chris Johnson when he signed for the team last week.

Johnson was the feature back for the Tennessee Titans in every season of his six-year spell with the club, but Ryan has admitted that they haven't decided what they are going to do with the 28-year-old yet.

"Nothing was ever promised [like] 'you're going to get X amount of carries.' No role determined for really anyone," Ryan told reporters.

The running back ran for 1,077 yards along with six touchdowns in the 2013 season.
